When we attended The Spirit of the Black Dress launch last year, we were nothing short of impressed. Ten beautifully designed dresses were showcased in a sleek exhibition space, giving credence to the talent of the designers who created them. Unsupisingly, the event was a big success; so much so that it will be on again in March as part of LMFF (L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival).
Applications for designers for the event are now open - a fabulous opportunity for any designer.

Urban chick with a splash of trash - the Evil Twin Autumn / Winter 2010 look book has some ultra cool pieces that present some massive 2010 fashion trends. Designer Jodie McKenzie makes the lingerie as outerwear trend look punk with an oversized tee, studded wrist bands and boy shorts.
She's usually got fair features, there's no doubt about that. But taking it to the extreme, Siri Tollerod wears what's shaping up to be two huge 2010 hair trends, that is bleached eyebrows and peroxide blonde in the Sportsmax Spring / Summer 2010 look book.
The patched jeans trend often comes with segments of the same coloured fabric. We've seen it as a street style trend where many patches are blue and matched with other shades of blue. Here, in a photograph by Moni Haworth, we see colours peeking out from behind the denim. Everything from floral to tartan is added to these shorts giving a very innocent girlish feel.
